Bringing the field trip into the classroom with an interactive collarge of 3D and media captured at the caves

As the number of people wanting distance education is on the rise. How we deliver online education has to grow. With permission to come along with a Geo-Science field trip at CQUniversity. The plan was document the cave system through a variety of mediums while not disturbing the group. Our team was to prepared to capture a variety of assets that would support the student’s digital experience.

We had a Canon 90d, 2x Aputure MCs, Insta 360 pro and Steadicam. My role was to capture the photogrammetry and 360 images, it proved quite challenging in the cramped dark spaces, however by the end it provided opportunity to train the team in use of the hardware and photogrammetry best practices. Leaving the caves we had the assets to develop out an interactive website showing the complexities of the caves to future students attending field trips and abroad.
