The CQUniversity Advanced Technology and Innovation Centre (ATIC) is located at the CQUniversity Rockhampton North Campus. The Centre has been designed support innovation, industry, education and job creation in regional Queensland, with a special focus on manufacturing innovations, engineering, communication technology and design. ATIC is open to community, industry and schools stakeholders, allowing everyone to engage with contemporary technologies, explore careers, and trial new business ventures.
ATIC forms part of CQUniversity’s masterplan to establish the Rockhampton North campus as a world-class innovation, education and training precinct, to support the development of regional Queensland and Northern Australia. CQUniversity developed ATIC with the support of the Queensland Government through the Department of State Development, Tourism and Innovation.

I was apart of the project from the initial concept through to current operation. I was initially tasked with procuring technology for 3D scanning, Virtual reality and 3D printing. Providing the business an analysis of potential products, costs and how they meet the requirements of the space.
As the space went through Covid-19, I developed sanitation pipelines with OHS to keep equipment safe, limit spread and promoted the use of UV devices to store and sanitize headsets.
After the technology was procured, I created lists of suitable software to showcase the technology to a wide audience. Also demonstrated the potential of creating our own content packages through photogrammetry and immersive technologies to create community specific content and long term content strategies for the space.
To this day, I support the space by showcasing individuals and groups through the ATIC to show the potential of the technology and support community on how to use the technology to solve their problems through digital means.
